Did I ever tell you?
There was a time when my world was falling down.

Insults screamed,
                           Etched in my memory
        Doors slammed,
                                   Shaking me to my core
                      Fists flying,

Who lit its fire?

The past grew colder
As did I
The pain from my eyes
Streaks staining my face

Do you remember how I used to love sitting in the rain?
Did you ever wonder why?

As seconds turn to minutes
Time moved on
And eventually
So did I

You brought it all back
The nightmare gripping my heart
Holding on so much
I don't think I can breathe
It's tearing me apart
